One of the problems i always had with the Al Gore/James Hansen catyclysmic Anthropogenic Global Warming hypothesis was the assertion that average temperature was going to monotonically increase, because that was what their vaunted computer models showed. Given the chaotic, dynamic nature of the earth's atmosphere that seemed implausible to me. Now, after years of no temperature increase we are told that the monotonic temperature increase scenario wasn't what they predicted at all; they knew all along that temperature could fall as well as rise.
