Barack Obama made an acceptance speech in which he seems to embrace some sort of individualism, but he has always been a collectivist and I doubt he has changed. America is still the one nation left in the world in which the majority of the people embrace individualism over collectivism (Great Britain used to to have a slim majority who favored individualism, but I think it has changed). Despite that majority, it is possible to fool most of the people some of the time, so Obama could well win election as President if he can mask his past and true beliefs.
