I watched an interview Of Christina Romer on TV and was not impressed. She tried to defend the Obama stimulus package and budget plan, but failed in my opinion. According to this article by Jennifer Rubin, two years ago Romer thought a 1% tax increase would eventually reduce GDP by 3%. She must have had a change of heart. I guess the brilliant economist Obama straightened her out. (My guess is that Obama explained that he was not interested in GDP growth, just wealth redistribution; the haves must be punished.)
