The drug laws have resulted in parts of police forces that have become increasingly lawless themselves. It is now routine for SWAT teams to knock down doors and aggressively attack people who are suspected of being just minor drug users, not necessarily drug dealers. There have been a few tragedies when police make a mistake and break into the wrong house. And, often the police get a warrant on the basis on informant accusations that are often unreliable, and may constitute an act of revenge.
