Here is something written in 1936 about the snobbishness of many of the elites. The thesis is that popular writing is important to the communication of ideas. I like the comment about when large bodies of people believe something that is unreasonable, one should look for motives rather than reasons. It seems to me that anthropogenic global warming fits into that category. There is no actual proof that the AGW hypothesis is correct, therefore we should look for the motives of Al Gore, the UN, and President Obama.
