Our Democratic Party Presidential candidates are claiming that blacks are unfairly sent to prison in the USA. They overlook the unpleasant fact that black's commit far more crimes than whites. For example, blacks, who make up 13% of the population, commit 52% of the murders in the USA. A few years ago when my daughter was in college I helped her gather some information on crime for a paper she was doing. (Her prof wanted to show that guns should be banned.) As a reult of that I kept some statistics on murder in Tarrant County for a year. As expected, it turns out that about half of white murder victims knew the person who killed them. In the other half of the cases the victim was killed by a black person 90% 0f the time (at least according to the opinion of witnesses, since the killer was often not caught.) On the other hand, during that period, no black person was killed by a white person. (The data were not perfect since the race of the people involved could not always be determined. That was before the huge influx of Mexicans into North Texas, so the statistics are probably different now, given the relatively high murder rate among the Mexicans.)
