One of the curious things about the recent Presidential election was the way Sarah Palin was attacked by both the left and the right. The ferocity of the attacks, which were mostly irrational, can only indicate that both sides are afraid of her gaining power. She doesn't appear to have any revolutionary beliefs, and her performance as governor has been solid, but contains no indication that she is anything but a typical somewhat libertarian conservative.
