Democrats love to pass laws that encourage lawsuits. They have bought into the Anthropogenic Global Warming hypothesis, and that offers a fertile field for lawsuits. It is often claimed that Global Warming causes hurricanes, tornadoes, and even earthquakes. Then there is sea level rise. The AGW hypothesis proponents ignore the fact that sea levels have been rising for thousands of years, and blame current rise in sea level (currently about 2.5 to 3 mm per year) on carbon dioxide emissions.
