In reality, Republicans are the party of the middle class while the Democrats are the part of the rich elites, supported by the votes of the poor. The Democrat leaders are statists who like large corporations, and don't like small business. The large corporations naturally support the Democrats who provide favorable regulations for them. This arrangement eventually evolves into fascism, because the politicians eventually take control of the large corporations because they control the legal establishment.
