Obama is trying to decree that the United States will get 20% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2020. Great Britain has been on a similar path for several years now with a more ambitious goal of 35% of electricity from renewables by 2020. Great Britain is not doing very well in meeting the goal, and since they are letting many of their existing plants go out of service, they can look forward to an increasing number of brownouts and even blackouts as the years go by.
