It is feared that Nessie, the Loch Ness Monster, is dead, a victim of anthropogenic global warming.

I wonder how Nessie learned about AGW? The annual variation of water temperature in the lake is probably at least 10 degrees. So how would a one degree increase in average temperature have been important? I guess it is similar to how the pine beetles in the southeastern United States became aware of AGW, even though the average temperature in that region has actually declined over the last 70 years.
