Of course, they did not think Bill Clinton should be removed from office for a similar indiscretion, and he broke the law when he lied about it under oath, something Sanford has not done. The reason for the difference is simple: Clinton is a Democrat, so he can lie, but Sanford is a Republican so he cannot make the slightest slip.
