The Press and the rest of the MSM have pretty much given Barack Obama a pass so far, not reporting on a lot of unfavorable things about his thin record that are true, such as his lack of a paper trail and his actual voting record. They have also given John McCain a pass, since he is their favorite Republican. They like him because he sticks his thumb in the eye of Republicans frequently. For example, I haven't seen any mention of the "Keating Five." That was a Democratic Party scandal in which McCain was the "token" Republican. (They always need to let one person from the opposing party in on the graft to help deflect partisan criticism in case the scam is discovered.) My recollection is that McCain was the only one to "skate" away from the scandal with little damage, but he was involved. (Charles Keating was convicted of fraud and racketeering related to the savings and loan industry collapse, but the convictions were overturned on appeal because Judge Ito - the incompetent judge in the O.J. trial - screwed up his instructions to the jury.)
